My name is Melvin Aelbrecht and I am a visual storyteller based in and around Amsterdam. I'm drawn to character and story-driven, cinematic imagery whether this is a still or motion picture. I'm attracted to the 'why' of things, those elements below the surface which define the exterior.
I enjoy to submerge people in imagery that will drag them out of the routine of any other day. I'm fascinated by narrative, but also find inspiration in the real world where things can be equally, if not more, peculiar. More than anything, I enjoy ideas but realize that they are nothing without equal part execution.
